"And so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled." -Titus 2:4-6
FBCN's youth program, led by Brandon Burns, is one devoted to exposing students to the gospel, developing relationships that encourage them to grow in their faith, and providing a context where students can engage with other students. We desire students to not only have fun with one another, but more importantly to press each other to a deeper understanding and devotion to Christ. FBCN understands that it is a major responsibility to teach students, and we seek to take each opportunity seriously.
Every Sunday the students meet to study the Bible in the Youth Building from 10:15 - 11:30am. Sunday mornings are devoted to learning how to study God’s word. Each Sunday we give our students new tools and knowledge on how to read God’s word in order for them to be able to understand the main point of the scriptures. Our hope and goal is that our Youth will learn to study God’s word on their own
throughout the week.
This mid-week Bible study is every Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This time includes studying God’s word, praying and singing together, and finishing the evening meeting with an adult youth worker that holds the student accountable to spiritual goals they set for themselves. They go through various Biblical topics that help young people address issues they may face concerning the Christian faith. These topics include spiritual disciplines (reading God’s word, evangelism, fellowship), living out the Christian faith, apologetics. They are currently studying “Understanding American Culture through the eyes of Faith.”
